My pal Christina invited me on a last-minute excursion to the desert… Joshua Tree to be exact. We rented a little desert oasis of a house that hardly felt like roughing it in the desert heat.

3 Days were filled with wandering through abandoned homes and bomb shelters in Wonder Valley, swimming in our clothes at the 29 Palms Inn pool, beers and twinkies with the locals at the Palms Restaurant, Horseback Riding in Morongo Canyon, and listening to crusty characters sing at Pappy and Harriet’s.
